Your Gateway to Unleashing Your Intermediate and Advance Surfing Potential

Jonty discovered his passion for surfing almost a decade ago. He used to work in a harbour and was never too far from the ocean. His surfing journey began with trying to catch some waves on a paddleboard until he borrowed a surfboard from a friend, and then he was immediately hooked.
When he first surfed in Hikkaduwa, he had a terrible wipeout and nearly drowned. After dragging his board out onto the sand, feeling rather exhausted and scared, he took some time to gather himself and then went back in. Despite his petrifying drawning experiences as a kid, he knew he wouldn’t give up as he wanted to overcome his fear! With a lot of commitment and effort, he was able to master the waves.
Meet your instructor Jonty

He vividly remembers his first barrel which he describes as freaking delicious! He loves the sound of the waves under his shortboard, and even on a bad day, surfing makes him happy. Surfing has taught him confidence and courage, and thanks to surfing, he has made lots of friends and improved his English. He strongly believes that surfing can change lives.

His favourite thing about teaching surfing is seeing people smile and sharing the laughter. He has an easy-going approach to teaching as he wants his students to have a good time. They always walk away with a smile and a bunch of new surf tricks up their sleeve. If you really want to learn how to surf, then Jonty is the right type of instructor for you - he will teach you!
